February 8, 2009Dude, so done with this bleeding/spotting sh*t. Called the doctors and they said it was fine, normal. Might continue on for a while. I have a headache, zero patience and a sh*tty attitude. Kind of what I expected PMS to be like and never experienced before. Man, I hope they’re not related.
I have had Mirena in for nearly 3 years now and I ABSOLUTELY HATE IT!!!
I am getting it taken out A.S.A.P !! I told my OB I was EXTREMELY sensitive to hormones,but she said “Mirena has such a negligable amt. of hormones,” I had nothing to worry about . WRONG!! W/in 3 month I put on 15lbs(though I was nursing, eating healthy, and exercising). 3 years later I’m up nearly 35lbs.! ;o( I have never had a digestive problem in my life! I’ve always been regular(sorry if too much sharing) and have only had heartburn 2x in my life. (which is while I was preg.) Well, w/in 3 mos. of have IUD put in I started developing IBS symptoms. W/ in 6 mos a colonoscopy was done (oh what fun!!) and I was diagnosed w/ severe ulcerative colitis!!! WTF!!! I never connected the 2 until I read a blog by another women who said the same thing happened to her, and from the responses it has happened to others too!!! I went on the MIRENA website, and buried in the warnings it states it could “worsen colitis symptoms” but I swear i believe it caused mine!!! I am not saying this will happen to everyone, i just think that some peoples bodies are more sensitive to these things than others. One other thing I hate about the IUD is that I have not had a real period in over 6 months!!! Yeah, sure I know that may sound great to some of you, but trust me it’s not!!! I get all the pms symptoms,( in fact i swear my pms is worse now), and may spot of discharge for a day or 2 on and off, but no actual period! I feel like i’m going insane!!! I cannot wait to get this thing out of me!!! I hope all of your experiences are better than mine!!! I’ll keep you posted on how things go once its out!

Where did you find this information about Ulcerative Colitis? Why did you wait so long to take it out if you hate it?
I’m afraid that I don’t know anything about Ulcerative Colitis, nor did I experience anything with it (thankfully).
